How about advent in Croatia?

Relax, we know it’s ONLY November, but the time flies fast and December (Christmas time) is just around the corner. In this blog post we decided to explain why Zagreb, capital city of Croatia, has been voted the best Christmas market in Europe by European Best Destinations online poll three times IN A ROW! Yes, in a row! If you’re a fan of the advent season and mulled wine, gingerbread, lanterns, fairy tales, all sorts of delicates and winter Christmas atmosphere – this is your December destination.

Traveling alone, with your significant other or with your family, you’ll most definitely find something for everyone. Find Santa’s living room, hand out with elf’s, drink hot chocolate while ice skating in one of the most fairy tale looking squares. Let’s start from the beginning;How about advent in Croatia?

Park Maksimir – colorful food and drink corners. Santa and his reindeers with the slay you can ride in a lot of different workshops where children can learn a lot + Zagreb’s zoo is just a few feet away. Need more convincing?
Start from the main square Ban Josip Jelačić and get to the funicular to climb to the Upper Town where an amazing view of the city unfolds. Enjoy daily concerts and grab a pic from the most romantic spot in the whole town. Holiday dream you think? No, just the reality of this magical Christmas experience.
Christmas fairy tale is the name of the magical spot on the main square where live music is playing your favorite Christmas carols every day beneath the huge Christmas tree.

Ice Park and European square with Christmas market, wide selection of Croatian food and beverages are a must while on your advent adventure. Visit Zrinjevac park near Ice park, where you’ll hear live performances from Croatian musicians in a glittering pavilion. Small wooden huts provide warm food and drinks while you’re looking at the artists stalls with numerous selections of traditional but certainly unique Christmas gifts.
